Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technique Introduction
  Time of Flight Diffraction(TOFD)
Two broadband longitudinal wave transducers (45°~70°of refraction angle), separated as transfer part and receive part, are arranged facing each other on the left and right sides of the weld, and receive lateral waves on surface & back-wall reflection on bottom. If there is a defect, we check the presence or absence of diffraction wave generated of defect at both ends. This method has excellent sensitivity for defect detection; the size and position of defects can be measured accurately, while leaving less influence on the direction of defects, and applied to thick specimens (20 ~ 300T) using high speed automatic flaw detection. Application: Construction of fixed jacket of marine structure, crude oil storage tank, welding equipment of high pressure equipment (press vessel, heat exchanger, pipe, ball tank) of refinery during construction and operation.

  Phased Array UT(PAUT)
PAUT (Phased Array) electrically adjusts the pulse delay time (delay time) of each piezoelectric element to the arrayed probe in which a multiple piezoelectric elements (more than 16 channels) are arranged, freely adjusting the propagation direction and focal distance of the ultrasonic wave Technology. By using multiple channels, it is possible to scan and focus with wide beam angle (40 ~ 85°), which shows excellent detection ability of Planer type defect and resolution. Also, it is possible to permanently store the three-dimensional defect information (A, B, C, D-Scan) and inspection results. It is applied to external welds of various ships and piping welds of shipbuilding marine equipment. It is also applied to austenitic LNG storage tanks and piping using Dual Matrix Probe.

  RAD Guard RT
RAD Guard system, developed originally by DSEC, blocks the radiation spreading distance shorter than RT generally used. The system can be used both day and night time, regardless of location, so as not to conflict with productivity and safety.

  Leak Examination
Difference in pressure is used between inside and outside of membrane with spraying of Helium or Ammonia for discovering defects. DSEC employs inspectors certified by ASNT or national technical qualification body and holds inspection experience of more than 110 vessels of LNGC and 10 of LNG storage tank.
